On September 18, 2005, beneath a brilliant blue sky, over two thousand people gathered on the flight deck of the retired USS Intrepid. They came with one mind and one purpose: to honor and encourage our troops serving in areas of conflict around the world. Ordinary citizens joined decorated military officers and families with loved ones in our armed forces.

We gathered to remind our troops that they are not forgotten, and to let them know that each day, on bended knees, they are brought before a God who deeply loves them.
